About Us - Employees Life Insurance Company of Alabama is a MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR financial institution. The company now has over $100 Million in assets.

Life of Alabama operates in 11 Southeastern states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

Since its organization in 1952, Life of Alabama has paid HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS in benefits to its policyholders. During the past 2 years alone, the Company paid out more than $38 MILLION in benefits.

Our History

Our History - Colonel Clarence W. Daugette, Jr. Our founder, the late Colonel Clarence W. Daugette, Jr., entered the life insurance business as an agent in 1927. After serving in World War II, Colonel Daugette re-entered the insurance business and excelled in both field and management positions. In 1952, the Colonel founded Life Insurance Company of Alabama. The Colonel passed away a few years ago, but left his legacy.
